Tom's Birthday

Apologies for the short break in posting. I've been on a work placement this week, and it has been exhausting! I'm doing Visual Merchandising at Selfridges Birmingham, which is a lot of fun. I have two weeks left, but I will try to post as much as possible.

In other news, last night I went to a very special gig. Thursday was my friend Tom's birthday, and last night he hosted and played at a gig at one of our favourite bars, Molloy's. I was very excited to see him play again, as he always puts on a show and never fails to inspire me.

Tom is the most amazing guitarist I've ever met. He blows a lot of professional players out of the water. It is an absolute crime that this guy hasn't been discovered yet. His band - the Tom Walker Trio - played first, opening with a really cool cover of I Shot the Sheriff.

Next up were the Alastair Rosser Band. Alastair is a big fan of the Beatles and Oasis, and it really comes across in the way he plays. The band closed their set with a really energetic cover of Twist and Shout. Oh, and that's Tom again on the drums!

The final band were The Rails. They were a cool retro band with a really energetic frontman, and I've had one of their songs stuck in my head all day long! We found out later that the lead guitarist (far right) is actually Tom's dad. Unsurprising, really! Tom joined the The Rails for their last song.

Check out the Tom Walker Trio and The Rails on Facebook.

And finally, here's what I wore.

Jumper - Zara
Blouse (collar just showing) - Oasis
Skirt - Vintage
Boots - New Look

Thanks to Tom, for being a perfect showman as usual, and to all the bands who played for a fantastic night of music and friends. If every Saturday night was as good as this one, I'd be a very happy girl!
