Best of the Globes 2013

Boy, were we treated to some show-stoppers last night! Once again the A-list did not disappoint, with extremes of both drama and elegance on the red carpet. Here are my favourites.

Anne Hathaway wore an incredible white peplum gown by Chanel Haute Couture. Her dark pixie cut perfectly compliments the clean silhouette of the dress, and her vegan shoes were custom designed by Aldo. And to top it all off, she won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Fantine in Les Miserables.

Kate Hudson's plunging Alexander McQueen gown works wonders for her amazing figure. The combination of black and gold creates a sense of drama, with the full length sleeves making up for the flesh on show up top. The elegant fishtail suits her down to the ground.

Julianne Hough nailed the meringue look in Monique Lhuillier. The heavily embellished bodice balances the full skirt, and the dress makes's Julianne's waist appear miniscule. I really like her quiff, too.

My favourite of the night, Lucy Liu wore a beautiful floral ballgown by Carolina Herrera. The design comes from the pre A/W collection, and accentuates Lucy's figure perfectly. She accessorised like a pro with a gold clutch and statement turquoise ring.

Megan Fox chose a nude Dolce & Gabbana lace fishtail dress. The strapless, figure hugging gown showed Megan in a sophisticated light, paired with drop earrings and a simple box clutch.

Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery wore a gold and white Alexandre Vauthier gown. A gold lace bodice with capped sleeves and a high neck is paired with a simple white skirt. The dress really shows off her figure, and creates a beautiful silhouette.

Taylor Swift's aubergine coloured Donna Karan Atelier gown. The figure hugging, high necked gown skims Taylor's figure, and leads into a flattering fishtail. Taylor paired the gown with minimal jewellery, opting only for a pair of striking drop earrings.

Nicole Richie's striking blue Naeem Khan gown featured an elaborate swirled pattern. The long sleeves and floor length skirt create a very modest, sophisticated feel. However, Nicole adds a touch of her signature bohemian style with a fringed clutch from her own brand, House of Harlow.

Emily Blunt combined two of the evenings 'trends' - gold and lace - in her Michael Kors gown. The cut-outs in this dress create the perfect amount of allure, whilst still showcasing her incredible figure.

I adore Kaley Cuoco. I loved her in 8 Simple Rules, and I continue to love her in The Big Bang Theory. Her Zuhair Murad gown was exquisite. The colour really suits her skin tone, the design is so intricate, and I love the bow on the waist. Also, I love her dark lip colour.
