Lace by Shirley Conran
This one came out in 1982 (apparently, my dad's first wife loved it...) and was written by Jasper Conran's mum. I'm a couple of chapters in and it's pretty raunchy, glamorous and dramatic. I'm excited to see where it leads. After all, it "defined an era".
Who Gets What And Why by Alvin E. Roth
The author of his book has a hell of a lot of pretty impressive accolades to his name. He's taught economics at Stanford and Harvard. He's a Guggenheim fellow, and a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. He's even won a nobel prize, so I know I'm in good hands with this one. The book looks at market matching in our everyday lives, from asking that guy on a date to applying for uni.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy by Avy Joseph
So recently I've been learning about CBT as a method of managing my depression and anxiety. This book is really easy to understand and includes easy tasks to help you apply the techniques to your own situation.
