April Reading List
On my never ending voyage of self-development, reading is one of those satisfying activities which always seems to get pushed to the end of the list. And so, for motivational purposes and for you guys to get a glimpse into my reading habits, here's what I'm hoping to tick off my reading list this month.
I am Malala by Malala Yousefzai and Christina Lamb
If you don't know her name, you'll know her face and you'll definitely know her story. I'm already halfway through Malala's book and am enthralled. It really gives you a much better understanding of life in this very different culture. Malala is wise beyond her years and truly an amazing role model for young people.
Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg
As an ambitious woman, Lean In has been on my radar for quite some time. It's written by the COO of Facebook and explores the barriers women face against leadership roles. It's a really important book for the equality movement, and might just come in handy one day.
A Book For Her by Bridget Christie
Yes, I'm a fucking feminist. And this book made me laugh. From the sarcastic little asterisk note on the cover, to the first paragraph of the blurb - 'Bridget Christie is a stand-up comedian, idiot and feminist.' - this book will probably give a more tongue-in-cheek account of the struggles of the modern woman.
Play On by Mick Fleetwood and Anthony Bozza
I'm actually lucky enough to have this book signed by the man himself. My friend and I were walking through town one day when we happened to stumble across a book signing by Mick Fleetwood. The book itself has been sitting on my shelf for over a year now, but I think it's time we clear up some of those Rumours.
Any recommendations? Leave them in the comments :)
