A Weekend In London

This weekend, I headed down to London for a much needed catch-up with my uni girls. Our base for the weekend was a cute little apartment in Shoreditch, from which we explored the city to our hearts' content.

On Friday afternoon, we met up at the Tower of London.

We found the apartment (opposite which was this super uplifting shop front), took some time to chill after our long journeys and then got ready to go out for dinner.

On Carrie's recommendation, we headed back to Tower Hill to Bodean's, a barbecue restaurant with five locations in the capital. Unfortunately, my camera was left behind, but I can reassure you that it was delicious and I would recommend it.

On Saturday morning we headed out to Oxford Street, where we spent a lot of time in Topshop before heading over to Chipotle for lunch. Alex and Carrie recently spent a couple of months travelling America, so they were excited to introduce us to the Mexican goodness. They were not wrong.

We then headed for Carnaby Street where we visited Monki...

and, of course, Mac.

And it wouldn't be a visit to Carnaby Street without popping into Choccywoccydoodah, which never fails to impress.

After lots of miles covered and pounds spent, we stopped at a cafe just off Oxford Street called Market Place. I had the House Lemonade, and it was the perfect refresher after a long day

After hitting a few more shops (Zara and H&M, to name a couple), we headed back to Shoreditch to find some dinner. We ended up in a pub called the Singer Tavern, where I got a cheeky 20% off my bill because the barman was a fellow brummie! Thanks John from Kings Norton!

Then it was back to the room to get ready for a night out. After (a lot of) predrinks and photos, we ended up at Catch in Shoreditch, where the vibe was awesome and the music was on point. A good night had by all.

On Sunday morning we packed up, checked out, and headed to the Cereal Killer Cafe on Brick Lane for the most hipster breakfast any of us has ever eaten.

The choice of cereals was massive, with British brands and imported options to choose from. If you can't choose, you could always get a cereal cocktail instead. You can also get flavoured milk and poptarts on the side.

We spent the afternoon wandering Tottenham Court Road before heading over to Kings Cross where we went our separate ways. And I took this gorgeous shot of the station's ceiling.

Overall, I had a blast! Every time I'm in London I'm reminded of how much I love the city and how badly I want to live there. But until that happens, I'm happy to be a tourist. See you soon London, and you too girls!
