The final five gowns of Rodarte Fall 2014 caused a lot of disagreement back in February when the collection was shown. A lot of editors believed the dresses to be a gimmick; a ploy for instagram coverage. And whilst that is completely possible, as a Star Wars fan, I think they are beautiful. I particularly appreciate how the draping of the gowns mimics the original costumes from the movies. My only issue is the lack of R2D2. But seriously, how often do we see a merge of high fashion and science fiction? And on using such iconic imagery from one of the greatest movie franchises of our time, Rodarte should be congratulated on breaking new ground, whether it causes controversy or not.
The question is, which one would I wear to Comic Con?
