I apologise for the lateness of this post, but it's been a hectic few days on the job. Anyway, last weekend was spent roaming the streets of London with the lovely Sam, who came to visit me. Bless him. Unfortunately, I had such a lovely time that I didn't take many photos, but I'll do what I can.
We began on Charing Cross Road where we perused a few of the best bookshops in the city, including Foyles, of course.
We then found ourselves in Covent Garden, where we stopped for lunch at Five Guys (soooo happy they're opening a store in Birmingham), and then headed into the market, where Sam's day was completely made by the legendary Moomin Shop. After a stop at the Cupcake Bakehouse, we came across this fantastic group of musicians.
On Sunday we decided to shun the tube and try out a couple of London's Barclays bikes instead. So we headed into Camden to the nearest docking station, and after figuring out how the whole system worked, we were on our way.
We headed into South Kensington to visit London's Science Museum, which is definitely worth a look. There's a real variety of exhibitions, so something for everyone. These were my highlights.
We then hopped on another couple of bikes to find some lunch. We ended up not far away at the Royal Quarter Cafe, where the interiors were gorgeous and the food was delicious. Not long after we decided we'd had enough exercise for one day, and hopped on a train back to the flat.
