Another year older

My mother's greatest birthday gift to me this year was not the gorgeous over-the-knee boots I've been lusting after for months (although they are pretty fabulous - pictures soon, I promise). It was the time, effort and commitment she put into making my outfit for Friday night.

On Wednesday, mum and I went into town, and bought this dress from Cow Vintage.

Less than 24 hours later, it looked like this.

I knew I wanted to wear co-ords, but I hadn't found anything I liked. When I saw this dress, I immediately fell in love with the print, and so we put together a plan on how to make it work.

I wore my suede ankle boots to toughen up the look a little, and painted my nails with Natural Collection's 'Champagne'. I picked up a new bag from Oasis whilst I was buying uniform, and popped into H&M for some jewellery. They have some really gorgeous rings at the moment.

Outfit aside, I had a fantastic night with the people who mean most to me. Thank you to my mum for being such a dab hand with the sewing machine and for always supporting my daft ideas. And thank you to everyone who came out to help me celebrate. I couldn't have wished for a better birthday.
