Breathtaking, isn't it. Just 3 days remain until the Eurostar whisks us away to the city of fashion and romance. So I've put together my list of must-see attractions for the 5 days I'm there.
The Eiffel Tower
It would be a huge mistake to visit Paris without seeing its most famous monument. Built in 1889 by Gustave Eiffel to mark the 100th anniversary of the French Revolution, the epic skyscraper dominates the Paris skyline. Nowadays, the tower sees 7 million visitors a year, 75% of whom are tourists. The Louvre
The incredible glass pyramids at the Musée du Louvre form the perfect contrast to the historic building, first built in the 12th century as a fortress, and later converted into the regal palace which stands today. The Louvre is the world's most visited museum, and a fitting home for some of the most famous works of art ever created.
Free 'P' Star
Free 'P' Star now comprises of three vintage stores within 5 minutes walk of each other. The stores are said to hold some of the best vintage finds in all of Paris. Although more charity shop than vintage boutique, if you possess the kind of dedication to vintage required to trawl the rails (as I do), you're sure to find a bargain.Angelina's Cafe
Opened in 1903, Angelina's is the epiphany of French elegance. Once the favoured hangout of such names as Coco Chanel and Audrey Hepburn, the infamous establishment features Belle Epoque style architecture, creating a luxurious atmosphere. Perfect for a macaroon or two!Colette
This concept store has something for everyone, from the book store to the beauty section to the water bar (which serves over 100 types of bottled water). The minimalistic design of the store creates a beautifully modern backdrop for the vast array of products available here. I can't wait to explore the designer collections on the first floor.
Wanderlust
Wanderlust is a relatively new addition to the Paris scene, opened in June last year. The bar/restaurant/club is a popular haunt with young, fashionable Parisians, and features modern decor combined with a few elements from the buildings industrial beginnings. I'll definitely be hunting this place down for a few drinks!
